Community Day Volunteer Request
This year, Credit Union 1 is looking for five major projects to support on CommUNITY Day.
If your project is selected, we will send 30 - 50 volunteers to contribute their time on Indigenous Peoples Day (October 14, 2019). Any organization in Alaska meeting the focuses outlined below is encouraged to apply; however, priority will be given to organizations serving communities where Credit Union 1 has a presence (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kodiak, Ketchikan, Nome and Soldotna). Below are our Community Focus Areas:
  • Youth and Education.
CU1 supports organizations serving youth and providing education to youth, ensuring they are provided the foundation needed to become successful members of our community. Special consideration will be given to programs teaching youth financial responsibility.
  • Health.
CU1 supports organizations improving the health of members of our community by providing support to those who are affected by disease or disability and by encouraging individuals to seek tools to remain healthy through prevention and education.
  • Social Services.
CU1 supports organizations improving the social wellbeing of disadvantaged members of our community through providing basic needs (i.e. food, shelter, etc.) and opportunities to restore their ability to restore their ability to flourish within society.
