To ensure speedy access to your PFD this year, be sure to choose direct deposit rather than a paper check when you complete your PFD application. Credit Union 1’s bank code is CQ. Our routing number is 325272063.
If you would like your PFD to be direct deposited to your spending account, you will need your 11 digit account number, which can be found on the bottom of your CU1 checks or within Online Access. Planning to save this $$$ instead of spend? Simply select "Savings!"
As a uniquely Alaskan credit union, every decision we make aims to best serve our local members and your Alaskan lifestyle! Thanks to feedback on the ways and times that our branches see the highest traffic, we’ll be updating our hours effective February 1:
We look forward to seeing you! Visit Locations for a current list of branch hours and locations. The changes above will take effect on February 1, 2019.
Credit Union 1 has announced that it will initiate a pilot program to provide financial services to Marijuana Related Businesses (MRB). Since 2014 when marijuana was legalized in Alaska, the lack of financial services for MRBs has flooded local streets with cash, resulting in a community safety issue. Credit Union 1 hopes to help relieve this issue by providing financial services to MRBs. Note that Credit Union 1 will only provide services to legally operating businesses, and these MRBs will be under constant, comprehensive monitoring by our compliance team to ensure all aspects of their businesses stay legal.
It’s important to note that Credit Union 1 does not take a political or moral position on the legalization of marijuana by providing services to these businesses. When it comes to our members, we always seek to meet the financial needs of those we serve without judgment or prejudice – and as a state-chartered credit union that only serves Alaskans, we are in the best position to provide this service for MRBs. Credit Union 1 has a long history of providing services to the underserved, from helping individuals with lower credit scores get loans and other vital financial services; to being the first financial institution in over 23 years to open a branch in the Mountain View community of Anchorage. Now, we will again provide financial services to those who have nowhere else to go.
In 2018 alone, CU1 members and employees have fundraised and donated over $207,000 to Alaskan communities and volunteered over 5,100 hours to nonprofits in need. We have been recognized throughout on a national level for our efforts to support community-minded organizations and initiatives from soup kitchens to youth engagement organizations. To further support our Alaskan communities in 2019, we will donate a minimum of 1% of all profits received from our MRB pilot program to the #CU1LUV Community Fund.
If you’ve ever felt like banks have their values backwards or like your credit union should stay local and loyal, then rest assured that you’re on the right path with Credit Union 1. We live each and every day with the mission to lead change, uplift others and value people – and we achieve this goal in a wide variety of ways.
